March Madness

March has not traditionally been a good month for me since I became a mom. It seems that March is the month that my kids tend to get the flu, have injuries, get colds, bronchitis, etc. Last year we had a head wound that required 2 staples, a gash in an eyebrow that required 2 stitches, and a sprained ankle that merited an Emergency Room visit at 2 am on the day we were supposed to leave for Disneyland (we went anyway).

Apparently we will not get away this year without our traditional March Madness -- yesterday I was diagnosed with a urinary tract infection (sorry, TMI) and this morning the school nurse called to ask me to come and pick up Garrett. He had a collision with a basketball hoop pole on the blacktop at school and the pole won. He has a goose egg on his forehead but otherwise seems fine. The nurse line was a great help and I don't have to take him in to the Doc which is a good thing.

No baseball game tonight because of the injury, but I'll report back after his Saturday afternoon game if not before.

And no, I am not going to tempt fate by asking, "What's next?"

I don't want to know.

The good news is that there are just not that many days of March left. Take heart.

Oh, and sorry to be no help with vacuums, the central was the choice that came with the house. Works pretty good, but I don't think you can retrofit them.

  2. Ya'all give a new meaning to that phrase. It just means basketball in most places. :)

it's Friday and I'm home with the sick kid. we were called yesterday when they were on a field trip in Vasona, 102 degrees last night, and I have to miss my much anticipated potluck today at work. now the child is tormenting me with Harry Potter and plans about a game boy.

Hope your days are getting better!
