Retirement

Here is my dad, surrounded by a group of his friends from WAAAAAY back. Believe it or not, this group met in high school and, well, I won't say how many years it's been since then, but my dad is retiring here, so it wasn't yesterday.

That's my mom in the blue with her hand on the old man's shoulder.

This was taken at the party we had at the bar. Now I have to tell ya, my folks rarely set foot in such an establishment when I was a kid. But since my brother and I left home, they have made some great friends who have been a terrible influence on them. I support this fully, as I think they (my mom in particular) needed to get out a little and raise some hell.

Although my mom told people not to bring gifts, they still brought them. My dad, god love him, is not exactly Martha Stewart. He vacuums. That is the extent of his household duties. But Mom has insisted that he will cook meals now, since he will be home all day to do it. So we brought him a cookbook.

Somebody else got him an apron (woo hoo!), and a few people honored his car addiction and got him car stuff and accessories for the garage.

Congratulations, Dad. I'm glad we were able to be there for the big day. Now get your a$$ out to that shop and start working on that Deuce.:-)
