Our front entry. Horrible ceramic tile -- not unattractive, just really ill-suited for an entry. And even more ill-suited for use in a bathroom. Yep, smooth, slippery... not sure what application it would be good for, but places that get wet from little kids splashing or snow melting off boots are not ideal, that's for sure.
I have to admit I took a little more pleasure in taking the sledgehammer to that tile than I thought I would. But man, it felt good. I wore my safety glasses and just dove in. Turns out underneath my lovely green 1952 linoleum (I know, jealous, aren't you) is hardwood. Of course we've already purchased the new carpet (to replace the Berber that looks WAY better in the photo than in real life) and the vinyl, so re-doing the hardwood floors in the hallway will have to wait a few years. When we do those we'll do the ones in my scrap room, too.
So there are the befores. With luck, Mike the flooring guy will be here Monday and Tuesday and I can post afters then.
