Animal Cruelty

Just a quick note here to vent about my neighbors. First thing you should know is we have a problem with coyotes and mountain lions (cougars) coming into residential neighborhoods. Don't even get me started on urban sprawl. Anyway, my neighbors have 2 cats that run free in the neighborhood. For any of you who think you are doing your cats a favor by letting them go free, let me clear this up: YOU ARE NOT.

Around here they are coyote bait. And since I despise cats anyway, I'd just as soon they turn into coyote snacks.

Two of them (or possibly 3) had a HUGE fight the night before last in our yard. I was dressed, Rob had jammies on, but he didn't want me going outside (I think he had visions of cougars in his head). So I went out in the yard and yelled at them, broke up the fight (from a distance, of course), and then cursed the neighbors out. As in, "If you are the owner of a cat that runs free you are an irresponsible pet owner and a %#@*&%^&* evil human being." I don't know if they heard me but man, I felt so much better.

So that's my little rant for today. Take care of your animals, people. Cats may be evil (in my opinion), but they do not deserve to be sacrificed to wild animals or forced to bear kittens. Spay or neuter your animals. Discipline does not consist of kicking a disobedient dog or cat down a flight of stairs (yes, I have seen this). Would you do that to your kids? And obedience training is a GOOD thing for dogs to have. It makes it much more enjoyable for you to have a pet and for others to be around your pet.
