It's almost here. Today we are going to a park with my friend Sandi and her boys, Kyle and Dustin. We'll hang out, eat lunch, and be on the road in time to take Evam to Tommy's fabulous Pirate Birthday party. The invitation arrived in a dirty, water-warped envelope with a treasure map and a bunch of sand in it. Very clever. He is SOOOO excited. Apparently he is wearing his bandana and pirate vest to the park. LOL Cute.
We have no plans for the weekend. Rob and I both have this ucky cough thing that sounds like bronchitis. I think we'll just stay home and I will take some naps. He doesn't call me "Nap Girl" for nothin'.
I also want to go see "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" but that will be determined later. Kids want to see "Sky High." As a confirmed movie snob I dread the days I have to go watch those Lame-O kid movies. Hell, I wouldn't even stoop to seeing "Nemo" or "Incredibles" at the theater. I still haven't seen "Incredibles."
Burned my thumb and 2 fingers of my right hand last night. Duh. I made a fritatta for dinner and when I pulled it out of the oven I used my bare hand to move tha handle of the pan out of my way. Duh! I sat with ice on it for about 2 1/2 hours before it quit burning. Gross to feel your flesh cooking on the inside. Thing is, it looks and feels fine today.
Speaking of movies, I promised a list earlier:
since it's 9:30 and I still have to shower, make a picnic lunch, and hit the grocery store it will be short.
You MUST see "Cry Baby." It is the funniest Johnny Depp movie EVER. I have it practically memorized. It is cheesy, silly, and so over-the-top that you just about pee your pants every other minute. Look for Ricki Lake, Patricia Hearst (the infamous heiress), Traci Lords (yes, the porn star), the guy who played Ed Chigliak on Northern Exposure (sorry, can't remember his name), and so many other cameos. OMG it is hysterical.
What's YOUR favorite Johnny Depp movie?
Without a doubt, hands down, What's Eating Gilbert Grape is my fav Johnny Depp movie. Big fan of Pirates as well, looking forward to the sequel coming out. As for the Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, I went as a fan of Johnny, but I would say DON'T waste your money. Wait for it to come to video/dvd...Somewhat disappointing for me, probably because I have seen Willy Wonka a million plus times and never get sick of that classic!! Heather
ReplyDeleteEdward Scissorhands. I cried and I think because I have disabled sons I understood it better than most. I also really liked Pirates--that is my favorite ride at DW so seeing the interuptation of it was cool.
