Okay, not so cranky today. Thanks for being concerned (you know who you are). I think Lesley was right -- spring break was getting to me and of course I, as usual, piled too many "to-do's" on my list.
Church today -- Rob and I each helped in a Sunday school class. We took the light rail downtown, which is always fun for the kids, then we walked to this great little New Orleans-style restaurant, the Poor House Bistro, which I highly recommend.
Great atmosphere, jazz playing, Andouille sausage, Pain Perdu (French Toast), grits (oh joy!), real chicory coffee, and -- oh my goodness -- beignets loaded with powdered sugar. Divine.
They are having a Mother's Day Brunch and I will be there. It is FAB.
Today -- more work on the altered clipboards I am doing for the teachers. Thus far they are very cool -- I am doing 5, in spring brights -- lime green, persimmon, aqua, pink, and yellow. Taking it slow, one coat of Mod Podge at a time, so no stress. Also a second coat of stain on the dresser. I think three coats will finish it up.
Our friends are back from Maui so I am looking forward to seeing them. It will be nice to be back in the trading childcare, hanging out for dinner, carpooling to baseball routine.
Thanks for reading through my little temper tantrums and days where I feel like I am walking around with a little black cloud hanging over my head. Haven't had one in a while, but it's nice to know people are there for you when one of those days pops up at you.
Happy Sunday. Tonight, The West Wing (new episode), Desperate Housewives (some kind of cheesy recap show), and Grey's Anatomy (also new). And tomorrow and Tuesday Bruce is on Good Morning America because his new Pete Seeger tribute CD is being released Tuesday. Have I mentioned how much I love him? Or how when he smiles my heart actually does this little fluttery thing in my chest? Or what an amazing, compassionate, humble man of character he is? Well, he is. Watch him. You will not be disappointed. The man is just absolutely amazing. Honest. (Plus, at age 56, his butt still looks good in a pair of jeans.) Yeah, baby.
I am glad that you are feeling better and you are right, Bruce still looks hot in his jeans.
