it is comfortable outside. Glorious, really. No humidity, temperature in the low 70's, and a bit of a breeze blowing gently through the trees. Of course, the dog is a little freaked out because I have everything opened up to let in the fresh air (I really hate air conditioning but consider it a necessary evil when it gets really humid). The breeze rustles the tree leaves, it makes that satisfyingly summery "swishy" sound, and the dog goes nuts thinking someone is invading her home.
The kids and their cousins are downstairs playing the Wii. I told them if there is fighting it gets turned off and they all have to help weed the garden. That will make them work things out pretty quickly if there are any disputes. LOL
My house is tidy -- not perfect, not entirely clean, but liveable. Good enough. Dinner will be started in a few minutes -- Chicken breasts with Cranberry Lime Salsa and sweet potato fries. I'm feeding the troops and Rob's brother and sister-in-law. I absolutely love cooking for big groups, so I am looking forward to it -- and this is a simple, delicious meal that is a total crowd-pleaser.
I am so grateful, this week especially, to be able to stay home full time. I love being able to hang out with the kids and enjoy them. I love cooking meals and doing things for my husband's family -- MY family. It has been a marvelous week and I really feel like this summer I am enjoying myself. I deserve it -- last summer was a lot of work and I am just glad to be home.
