Books my kids are enjoying right now

These books are great for boys or girls and I would recommend them for reluctant readers. We have bought several to give as birthday gifts and they are the talk of our elementary school right now.

There are other titles, including Fairyology, Pirateology, and Egyptology. Written to sound like scientific guides (kind of like Graeme Base's book The Discovery of Dragons and Dinotopia), they have kept my kids happy in the car and on rainy days this summer.

You can search Amazon for each individual title or "ologies."

  1. We LOVE these! Our most recent is one we got at Disney Epcot on Vikings!

They are gorgeous and make excellent gifts. (We give them too, but I didn't have to tell you that now did I?)

  2. We have Dragonology, B loves it...frequently find his nose buried in it.

Your boys might like his favorite "The Lego Bionicle Encyclopedia" which I think he's memorized by now.

This summer B read (I swear I'm not making this up) Aldo Leopold's "A Sand County Almanac." He also plowed through "A Wrinkle in Time" in two days, moving on to "A Wind in the Door" and he's been sneaking M's American Girl books on the sly! LOL!
