I love this picture
It's me and my mom, in 1972 or '73.
My house is full of pictures. Today I am overwhelmed at the sheer number; a conservative estimate is TEN THOUSAND pictures. Rob says that's reasonable, and he is not one to exaggerate, so I believe him.
Last night I was panicking at the thought of having to Do something with all of these pictures, but the stress melted away as I looked through boxes and found pictures of me with my grandpa Don, pictures of my grandparents at Christmas, pictures of my great grandparents as young people and infants. I LOVE these things. They are touchstones to a deeper part of me. They are a connection to those who came before.
And since it is important to me, I will make sure that those who are still to come will know these people. Even if it takes me 'til I'm 90.

ReplyDeleteI love family photos too. You'll get through them...if anyone can do it, you can! (Even if you're 90)
