Saturday night ...

Rob should be on his way home by now. I have turkey meatballs in the oven and puff pastry thawing on the baking cabinet. Spaghetti and meatballs for dinner, with garlic toast, something green (maybe), and pear tarts for dessert.

The house is reasonably tidy, I got a little laundry done today, and in a run to Bed Bath and Beyond (in which NOTHING was purchased -- a small miracle), I think I found the rods for the curtains in my living/dining room. The company is called Umbra and the finish is champagne. So glad to have a direction to go on this -- hope they have the single style in a 1 inch diameter at another store, but in the meantime, I know what I want and that is a good thing.

And here is my dining table (clean for the first time since I don't know when) and all decked out with this hurricane (why are they called that?) and a new yummy vanilla candle and some lovely white, red and peachy glass beads. I don't have a lot of red in the house, but I thought this was perfect as we move into autumn plus it will do nicely for Christmas as well.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend, friends!

  1. Pretty!

I don't know why they're called hurricanes, but they serve hurricane drinks in the same shaped glass (I'm sure you know this).
