Catching up

Sorry I've been MIA. My folks came down last Wednesday to hang out with us and attend Evan's Destination ImagiNation event in Chaska.

Thursday my mom and I took a pillow sham and a piece of trim from her bedroom at home and went to the fabric store, where a very nice lady helped us choose some lovely fabrics for valances, a chair she will have reupholstered, and a few other things. I think the room will be adorable when she's done.

Saturday we were at Evan's competition most of the day. They did great but did not advance from the state level to "globals." Evan was disappointed for a few minutes, then seemed fine. I was relieved, since I was not eager to go to Knoxville, TN in May.

Last week the kids had some of their statewide standardized testing. Two more days this week and they're done. Because of that and Spencer's production that happens this week, I volunteered for at least a couple of hours Monday thru Thursday last week. It was fine but I will be glad to just do my Monday and Thursday gigs this week.

It seems as I write that not much is happening around here, yet I have a ton of stuff to do ... still working on my Photo Hunt, some scrapbooking and creative challenges and gifts, and I have some sewing that should get done as well.

Lola is doing fine. In fact, the whole family loves her. There is a free game in which one tries to pop the most bubbles in the bubble wrap. Makes that very satisfying "Pop!" every time, it's just missing the delicious feel when it pops. Guess you can't have everything.

And yes, I am surprised at how much I like it. I was very resistant but I have a grocery list application (only 99 cents!) that allows me to keep a running list on my phone and even lets me input prices (which I haven't done) and notes if I have a coupon. I know! (And speaking of coupons, I have required the sign off of a manager the last few times I've grocery shopped because of the number of coupons I am using. I am liking that. Saving $20 or $30 on a trip is a good thing.)

The laundry is going, the kitchen is clean, the plants are growing, and I need to make my bed, clean my room and get a shower so I can go in to school for a bit. Have a great week!

Last, if you could please just keep my little brother in your thoughts I'd appreciate it. He is going through a rough patch right now and can use all the prayers, vibes and good wishes y'all can send. Thank you.

Prayers for B. Hope all is resolved for him soon.

Prayers for you too...whatever it is that's not right...that it gets right.
