Grateful!

Ha! Surprised you, didn't I? I am grateful today -- not my usual cranky self. So here are some of the things I'm grateful for today...

* I made a new friend, Susan, who is here for a few more days from Eau Claire, WI (long story). Her kids and mine played together most of the day, we went to a sprinkler park, and they all got along. She and I have so much in common and I am so grateful I met her! She is a terrific person.

*Another reason I love Susan; she brought me chocolate. That in itself would win major points with me any day, but she brought me Scharffen Berger Nibby Bars. Have I mentioned my obsession with those? Thought so. We hosted their family a few weeks ago for dinner and I mentioned that I love them, so she brought me a bag with an assortment of flavors, but mostly Nibby Bars. (Like a DOZEN candy bars). Suh-WEET! Literally.

*I sold the wrought iron table and chairs. Not to the evil one mentioned earlier, to a single mom with a 3 year old son, and for $150, not $100. Nice. Note: if you ever want to sell a similar dinette set, use the words "Contemporary Casual" in the ad. It works. LOL

*Also sold 2 books and a life jacket on eBay this week. There's another life jacket for sale this week if you're in the market for one. Post a comment and I'll give you my eBay userID.

* Got a stone polisher/cleaner for my countertops. It was recommended by a friend with granite in her kitchen. I still won't ever put the stuff in a house I build or remodel, but I am much happier. At least it's relatively clean now.

*We have swim dates scheduled at people's houses for the next 3 days. Did I mention it's like, 94 degrees out? I had to break down and turn on the A/C today. I was trying to hold out 'til July 1. Oh well. Grateful to have A/C, too, BTW.

*I went to a lecture last night by Elizabeth Hartley-Brewer, "Raising Confident Boys." After it was over I saw the table where they were selling her books and I already own one of them. Where was it? At home on my bookshelf. Duh. I never even looked when I bought the ticket to see if I had any of her books. As someone who loves to collect signed books I was totally mad at myself when I figured it out. On the up side, she was really good and had lots of help re: boys beginning about age 8. Hmmm .... can Garrett be turning 8 already? Doesn't seem possible.

*I am going to a crop tonight. Not sure what I am doing, as I am caught up on the beach album I've been working on (YAY) but am going nonetheless. I have completed 125 layouts this year. This is good because my Creative Memories Consultant, Stacy, challenged me (and all her customers) to do 205 layouts this year. I am SOOO close! And I get a prize when I do it. So I am working like crazy to get there.Last year I did about 250, and I'd like to surpass that this year, so my personal goal is more like 275, but we'll see.

*Soft tacos for dinner tonight. I got sour cream and guacamole. Yum. Life is GOOD.
