Stream of consciousness

I have a lot going on so I'm just emptying my brain here. Sorry, I don't expect it to make much sense (even to me).

* I saw a mountain lion (read: cougar)in my back yard today. It was a cub (kitten?), but it was big. And the guy from animal control said it was NOT a ML -- but then said he didn't know what it was. Bite me.

* Vanessa goes back to England today for a month, then will likely be moving to Colorado when she comes back. Sad.

* On a good note, I finally cut the boys' hair yesterday. Two crew cuts and a high and tight. Love those Marine Corps 'dos. Ahhh, memories.

* Cara called today. SOOOOOO glad to hear her voice, except it made me miss her so much I cried. (Insert giant "Loser" sign here).

* Had a rotten day as a mom, too. I chewed out my kids for their messy playroom. Could somebody please stop me the next time I contemplate purchasing Legos, Magnetix, K'Nex or other "manipulatives" that I used to think were so necessary for their proper development? They can read, they're fine -- can I throw all that crap out now?

* Started making plans for the trip back to MN and ND. We leave the 13th. I am usually way ahead of this stuff. This time I feel WAY behind.

Off to do laundry and dinner dishes. Yes, it's 8 pm and no, I'm not apologizing. Everyone here is damn lucky they *got* dinner tonight. I was just not in a good place.
