Rob spent the day at the Pebble Beach Golf Course watching the AT&T Pro Am tournament. He's not home yet, but early reports via cellphone indicate sightings of Bill Murray, Mark Wahlberg (he of the awesome abs) and Donald Trump, among others. He had a great time at the IBM sponsor tent and had free food & beverages all day.
We were just across the bay at Carmel River Beach, watching the Outback Steakhouse blimp as it moved over the golf course. Here's a shot of the bay opposite the golf course. It was a beautiful day, if a bit chilly.

Here is a view of San Francisco from yesterday. I took it while walking down the stairs on Lombard Street (known as the crookedest street in the world).

And here are my 3 monkeys just outside the gates of Chinatown. Isn't this funny?

Rob and I leave tomorrow for a couple of days at a B&B in Santa Cruz. I'll probably be back midweek.
Thanks for all the awesome birthday wishes here, on the phone, and via email. *In a Sally Field voice* "You like me! You really LIKE me!"
That is a great picture of the boys. I got you a book signed by Kate DiCamillo--write me when you get back and I will send it.
ReplyDeleteYou have inspired me to get out do something! Today we went to Natural Bridges, Wilder Ranch, and Bonny Doon Vineyard. All places I have NEVER been. And I LIVE in Cali.
ReplyDeleteThe beach or a golf match with free food...hmmm...maybe it's the negative 40 windchills we got over the weekend, but the beach (even a chilly one) is my sure winner.
ReplyDeleteShoot...I meant to say that monkey pic is classic! Awesome!
