Good weekend
After Friday night and Saturday's practices, Garrett is well on his way to the Major Leagues. Well, okay, maybe not quite yet, but he did have a great time. After Saturday's practice we hit the sporting goods store and picked up his cleats, pants, socks, shirt and belt. The jerseys will be handed out later and the kids already have their hats, as you can see in the photo. The team is the Astros. (Mom was hoping for the Red Sox, but hey, you can't have everything, right?)
Also at the sporting goods store, Evan used some birthday money along with other money he's been saving and spent it on half of a pair of really cool Rollerblades. Mom and Dad kicked in the other half for his birthday present. He'll be 7 on Wednesday -- hard to believe, isn't it? Here he is on his skates. Believe it or not, it rained all day today so he skated in the garage.
In other news, the back of the minivan is loaded with a bunch of toys, some shoes and clothes, and ..... drumroll, please .... the POTTY CHAIR! Yes, that's right ... my family has graduated to everyone using a regular toilet (without a little toilet seat, even). Spence has been trained for a year but we obviously haven't cleaned stuff out yet. Goodwill, here I come!
Goals for this week? Sew the covers for Woody's bed (Woody is a yellow lab owned by our friends Mark & Vanessa), finish a couple of gift albums I'm working on, start sanding the dresser from our bedroom, and clean out the walk-in closet. Ewwwww.
We have a busy week -- Evan's birthday, an Art Vista lesson at school, the usual homework routine, baseball practices, and maybe listing a few things on eBay. Whew. We'll see ... but I do feel good about starting the preparations for the move this summer. Every little bit I do now is less I have to do later, right?
