New Phone Book

I know I am a dork but when the people who lived here for a little while when we were in California left, they either took the latest phone book with them or they never got the updated one.

At any rate, they were LDS (aka Mormon) and the Missionaries' apartment phone number was handwritten on the front of the book (and while I am fine with the Missionaries, I don't have any need to call them). In addition, there has been a ton of growth and change in this city and the book was so outdated that many numbers were simply not in it.

So I whined and complained about this on the weekend and called Qwest to request a new book. The very helpful (and more than slightly STUPID) guy at Qwest put me through to the contractor that handles phone books. Only trouble was, they are only open Monday thru Friday. Uhhhh, dude, thanks, but now I'm on this dead end call with NOBODY and I am more annoyed than ever.

Perhaps I should have called the Missionaries at that point. At least they could pray for my soul. I don't necessarily subscribe to the prayer thing, but it seems like it can't hurt. LOL

But this afternoon my dear husband came in with a current phone book for me, placing it on my desk with a flourish.

I am ecstatic. So whom should I call?

  3. I never use a phone book anymore. I always use the internet.

I am glad that you got a new one and it is void of missionary numbers.

  4. Can I just say that through your whole post I was wondering why you didn't ask Rob to steal one from the multibillion dollar corporation he works for? Because the last time I was there, I saw a whole stack of 'em just sitting there in the cube farm.
